Agberto Guimaraes, The director of operations earlier released a statement that the organizing committee is expecting high attendance in Copa America 2019, considering the almost full stadiums in Brazil during the World Cup 2014.

Copa America 2019 Favourites

Copa America 2019 will take place this year in Brazil in five different cities. Copa America 2019 will be starting on 14th June and will end on July 7th.  Copa America is a quadrennial tournament and is organized by South America’s CONMEBOL. It usually also involves multiple countries outside of the confederation.

This year we have 12 nations competing with each other. The current champion team, Chile. The host Brazil, two powerful teams named Uruguay and Argentina. And two invitees named Qatar and Japan.

Top favorites teams are Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. However, they didn’t perform up to the mark in the 2018 World Cup. The defending champion Chile also failed. Colombia was also out after facing England. Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Paraguay, for sure have some of the largest fan bases in the Copa America, and the world. Nonetheless, they’re all too strong & they are aiming for the trophy that currently Chileans are holding. Argentina wants to be the champion, so they’re determined to win.

This year’s editions are Japan and Qatar, and both of these countries were in the Asian Cup Final in January but Qatar won by 3-1. This will be Japan’s second appearance in Copa America, while Qatar is making their debuts as the first Arab nation in Copa America.

Japan is an outsider this time, but seeing their performance in 2019 Asian Cup gives very hard competition to teams like Chile, Ecuador, and Uruguay, because, Japan played well in World Cup 2018 and won against Colombia. At the end losing by 1–3 to Qatar may have damaged Japanese reputation, And their coach Moriyasu announced that the Copa America 2019 will be their aim.

Now about Qatar, from how they performed to crown the trophy, Argentina, Paraguay, and Colombia despise them. And most probably, because these countries have a very negative stereotype for Qatar, the result of its large Levant dispersal, and also the historical encounter between South American and Gulf teams have always ended mostly in South American favor. In Copa America 2019, if Qatar wants to win then it needs more than the cup they acquired in the Asian final Cup.
